The ATEX Si intrinsically safe temperature sensor is designed for reliable temperature measurement in explosive-atmosphere zones. It meets the requirements of ATEX- and IECEx-classified installations, where limiting electrical energy is a safety imperative.
The sensor incorporates a thermocouple or resistance (PT100 / PT1000 RTD) measuring element, selected according to the temperature range and process constraints.
The entire measurement chain is dimensioned to limit voltage, current and power to non-incendive levels, in accordance with intrinsic safety principles (Ex i).
Several models of connection heads or connectors are available.
The sensor body is made of stainless steel or a specific alloy, providing excellent mechanical, chemical and thermal resistance.
The internal electrical insulation, the choice of dielectric materials and the junction design ensure metrological stability and long-term reliability.
The sensor is intended for use with an intrinsic safety barrier or galvanic isolator, ensuring separation between the safe area and the hazardous area.
